“Trauma and Chicken Soup” – a talk by an expert on traumatic exposure

NAJEX Board Member, Monica Kleinman is a psychologist with decades of experience as a military psychologist, as well as in the implementation of preventative programs at an organisational level in NSW Emergency Services

In this presentation Monica will look at traumatic exposure, psychological injury and why it is that some people do just fine.  It will include an optional opportunity for those attending to complete and score a simple trauma scale and find out how they are travelling NOW regardless of what has happened to them over time. It will NOT be an academic expose of research or treatment but it will inform on how best to protect against the adverse impact of traumatic events.
